La Bonne Soupe

La Bonne Soupe was a pleasant French lunch time surprise. It's in Midtown near MOMA. We thought we would give the place a try based on the glowing recommendation of Dancing Composer. It was raining when we scurried down 55th to get ourselves in the door only to find a wait for tables. Popular. Good sign of course. We spotted room at the tiny bar and got ourselves seated there. We had the bartender right smack in front of us and thus had excellent attentive professional French service. The food was tasty, plentiful and reasonable. Danny ate too much. Roxanne was more restrained. Their French comfort food was just what we needed on a rainy day in New York.
